Popular Juju Musician Bayo Ade Killed By Kidnappers

A popular Benin based musician Bayo Ade behind the hit song 'Amebo' was sadly killed by kidnappers in Benin City last Sunday.
According to reports, he was scheduled to play at the party of a popular politician's father ( the father is also a wealthy chief) .
When his boys waited for a while with no trace of him in sight they became worried, especially when they found out he was actually on his way to the venue and had left a few hours earlier.

Unfortunately their worst fears were confirmed when they got a call from his abductors demanding for the sum of ten million Naira. The family pleaded and allegedly negotiated the sum down to five hundred thousand, a sum the family payed.
Unknown to them, the musician was already dead as he had been  killed  by the kidnappers with his body  dumped in the boot of a car.

Word has it that the musician's dad on hearing the death of his son slumped

This is so,so sad. I remember being introduced to the word 'Amebo' as a kid through his song . My mum even used to sing the song for us anytime one of us said something we were not supposed to. The man was incredibly talented and he will be greatly missed.

R.I.P Bayo Ade.

The rate of kidnapping in Benin is alarming. Hardly a day goes by without the news of someone being kidnapped. No one walks on the street anyhow again as always have to watch your back. Some thing really has to be done.
