One of Nigeria’s CDMA operators Zoom mobile (formerly known as Reltel) has shut down it’s operations temporarily. The company is said to have sacked about 200 skeletal staff and also shut down their base stations.
According to the chairman of the company Senator Annie Okonkwo, they had to place some members of staff on indefinite suspension because they were experiencing huge losses.
The chairman however assured the company’s customers and business partners that this is only a temporary measure as they are currently in talks with some Chinese investors.
