Nah Wah Oh!!! Lady Allegedly Slaughtered By Fiance

The Criminal Investigation Department, CID of Nassarawa State Police Command, Lafia is questioning Johnson Yakubu, a taxi driver who plies his trade in Abuja on the murder of his fiancee.

The body of the deceased, 29-year-old Victoria Akubo, was discovered by the son to the couple’s landlord on Friday afternoon.

Explaining the circumstances in which the body was discovered, sources in the deceased residence at Catholic Church Road, One Man Village, a suburb of Abuja, Nigeria’s capital, told P.M.NEWS that the taxi driver who had left home earlier in the day called the landlord’s son to help check on his fiancee since he has been trying unsuccessfully to get her on phone.

The landlord’s son who also spoke to P.M.NEWS said he subsequently went to knock the door of the couple’s flat, but hesubsequently went to knock the door of the couple’s flat, but he did not get any response.

The landlord’s son said he subsequently called Johnson back to inform him that there was nobody at their home.

But the taxi driver was said to have insisted that his wife is inside the house.

He asked the landlord’s son to check inside the house through the other door that leads into the couple’s flat at the back.

Following Johnson’s instructions, the landlord’s son told P.M.NEWS that he went to peep in through the window and saw the body of Victoria lying on the bed with her face covered with a pillow.

He said he entered the flat and discovered that the Victoria was dead with two marks indicating that she was stabbed in two places. The landlord’s son said he consequently reported to the police. P.M.NEWS confirmed that the incident was reported at the local police station before the case was transferred to Lafia on Monday this week. It was gathered that Johnson, in his statement, tried to deny responsibility for the murder.

But the claim is being faulted by Victoria’s family.

It was learnt that Johnson had initially told the police that he left home around 8 am that day, but changed his statement later when he gathered that Mama Reuben had called Victoria around 6:12 am, indicating that the deceased was still alive as at then.

The same Mama Reuben told the police that she later went to see Victoria at their home around 7:30 am, but left after she repeatedly knocked the door without getting any response.

P.M.NEWS investigations also revealed that though Victoria and Johnson did their traditional marriage introduction ceremony preparatory to their wedding about two months ago, the deceased’s family did not approve of the marriage.

Also, neighbours of the couple at their former residence told P.M.NEWS that Johnson, an Igala from Kogi State, like his wife, is in the habit of beating and maltreating his wife to be.

Victoria, it was learnt, was admitted in hospital for some weeks recently as a result of such beating.

A younger sister of the deceased who was living with the couple claimed to have left in protest of the domestic abuse of Victoria.

Solomon Akubo, an elder brother of the deceased, said the family wants justice to be done on the issue even as he alleged that the police are trying to sweep the matter under the carpet.

A woman is alleging that Two and a half men star Aston Kutcher cheated on his wife Demi Moore with her. The lady claims Aston slept with her the on his wedding anniversary (this year).

  

This revelation has led to speculations that the couple may eventually split. 

Demi's Quote by Greek philosopher Epictetus,  "When we are offended at any man's fault, turn to yourself & study your own failings. Then you will forget your anger." on  twitter has only fuelled the rumour.

This is not the first time an allegation of cheating is being levelled against Aston. Last year a woman claimed she slept with him. That allegation prompted the couple to go to Israel for what Aston called a "spiritual journey".

The couple tied the knot in 2005. Aston is 33 while Demi is 48.

Christains Form New Terror Group......Warn Boko Haram Of Possible Retaliation

The new Christian terror group in the North, Akhwat Akwop, which was apparently formed to checkmate the activities of the extremist Muslim Boko Haram sect has asked nationals of five Islamic countries suspected to be funding the Boko Haram to leave the country.
Akhwat Akwop alleged that the Islamic republics of Iran, Syria, Saudi Arabia, Mauritania and Sudan had been funding the terrorist activities of Boko Haram, warning that its members would attack the nationals of the five countries and their interests.

made its position known in a statement issued, yesterday, and made available to various media houses in Lagos, Abuja and Kaduna.
The group, which sounded a wake-up call on all Christians over the current activities of Boko Haram, said the violence being unleashed on the country was to intimidate President Goodluck Jonathan and other Nigerians to enable the Hausa/Fulani seize power in 2015.
Akhwat Akwop, however, said that political power must return to the old Eastern Region after Jonathan in 2015.
It further stated that it does not recognise any Muslim traditional ruler in any way or form in any part of the North, warning that for peace and harmony in the North in particular and Nigeria in general to be maintained, the Hausa/Fulani who settled in the various minority tribes in the North must stop oppressing their hosts in those areas.
Akhwat Akwop came into security consciousness about two months ago when it dropped leaflets in some parts of the north, including Benue, Taraba, Yobe, Borno, Bauchi, Adamawa, Plateau, Kogi, Nasarawa and Kaduna states, warning that it would do everything possible to liberate northern minorities from the strangle-hold of the Hausa/Fulani who, it stated, had been lording it over them and causing havoc in Nigeria in the name of Islam.
In Kaduna State, large quantities of the leaflets were left at the state chapter of the Nigerian Union of Journalists, NUJ, Press Centre by unknown persons.
The leaflets, entitled Warning to Boko Haram, claimed that Akhwat Akwop stood for the Christian equivalent of Boko Haram, adding that it would be in the forefront of the struggle for the emancipation of northern minorities, whether Christians or Muslims.

Boko Haram Top Commander, 5 Others Arrested

     

                  

Borno State Governor, Kashim Shettima said yesterday, that a top commander of the deadly sect, Boko Haram has been arrested alongside five other members. With the arrest, a relieved Governor Shettima who confirmed it to the Associated Press said, “I believe the worst is over”.

Governor Shettima told The Associated Press in an interview at his heavily guarded office that officials believe a negotiated peace can be reached with the sect now. He, however, warned that members of the group who still continue sectarian campaign of assassinations and bombings will be hunted down by the increasing military and police presence in Borno state.

“I believe the worst is over,” Shettima said, adding that five others were also arrested and are being detained. The governor did not however disclose the name of the arrested commander and his foot soldiers.

The heavy presence of the military on the streets of Maiduguri, according to Governor Shettima has reduced violence in the city, adding that intelligence gathering by military and the police led to the arrest of the man responsible for planning and orchestrating attacks around the city.

a loose command-and-control structure, allowing different groups to operate autonomously of each other, Shettima said, noting that “they operate in some sort of cells, some sort of units that interlinked, but generally they take directive from one commander.”

The Federal Government Committee on Boko Haram which submitted its report last Monday had recommended among others a dialogue between the government and the sect while the Sultan of Sokoto would represent the group at the talks. The committee claimed to have reached out to the sect and that its members were ready for talks with government.

The sect in its reaction the following day, however, distanced itself from the report saying its members were not ready for dialogue. Spokesman for the sect, Abu Qaqa in a telephone interview with newsmen said the group did not have any input in the report and denied that it was ready with peace talks with government. He vowed that the group will continue its attacks until its demands were met.

He added that the group was not satisfied with membership of the committee noting that those who advised the government to involve the Sultan of Sokoto did so without consulting the sect. The demands of the sect according to him included “severe punishment for those who killed their leader, Mohammed Yusuf and other members of the sect in the July 2009 revolt.” He said the group had also demanded that its places of worship which were destroyed in Maiduguri and other states in the country by security agents must be rebuilt as well as the release of all its members who were being detained while adequate compensation must be made for the loss of their property.

Restrict and search vehicles into police formations, IGP tells officers

Following a fresh threat by the Boko Haram sect to attack some selected targets across the country especially Abuja, the Inspector-General of Police IGP Hafiz Ringim has directed that the number of vehicles allowed into police stations and other formations should be greatly curtailed irrespective of the status of the occupant(s).

The directive also ordered that such vehicle(s) should be vigorously searched even if they carry federal government, Police, military number or any of the security agency’s number plates. Sources said the signal which was directed to all the Assistant Inspectors-General (AIGs) and copied Commissioners of police (CPs) across the country, reads in part: “Henceforth, you are directed to ensure that vehicular movements in and out of all police formations are greatly monitored and curtailed.

It is directed also that you ensure the meticulous screening of such vehicles irrespective of the personality of their occupants before they are allowed into your respective stations. Vehicles with Police plate numbers, federal government numbers, military and para-military numbers are not exempted. Their occupants are also not exempted, please.”

Already, police formations in Lagos state have started implementing the directive which sources said was received Monday. At the state police command, Ikeja, vehicles which hitherto clustered in the premises have been dislodged while those attempting to enter were restricted and subjected to serious screening. Other formations, including the SCID Panti Yaba, SCID, Zone 2, Festac town Divisional headquarters, Apapa visited have commenced enforcement of the order.

Meanwhile a Canadian Labour leader currently visiting the country has said his country’s labour delegation insisted on making its trip to Nigeria despite negative security reports in order to debunk the impression terrorists wanted to convey about the country.

The Secretary General of Canadian Labour Congress (CLC) Mr Hassan Yusuf said this yesterday while responding to reporters’ questions during a press briefing jointly addressed in Abuja by the Canadian Labour delegation and the leadership of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC).

Miss Universe Accused Of Using Forged Certificates

 

There are fresh allegations that suggest that the new Miss World Leila Lopes used forged documents for her the competition and that she is not a black woman.

According to Argentine’s Infobae, a mysterious man named Charles Mukano forged documentation—including falsifying claims that Lopes is a business administration student in the UK—that allowed her to enter the Miss Angola UK pageant, and subsequently, win the Miss Universe title. Presumably, Lopes resides in Angola and only Angolans who live in Great Britain are eligible for participation.
In case those allegations weren’t enough to discredit Ms. Lopes, the rumor mill churned out the one unconfirmed tid-bit that is sure to gain more traction in the mainstream media than the original achievement of winning Miss Universe has so far been unable to accomplish:

Ms. Lopes is accused of not being a Black African woman; instead, she is allegedly Cuban and speaks fluent Spanish.

I guess some people can't stand a black woman winning. First it was Miss France and her mean  comments now this!!

Police Make Arrest In ABSU Gang Rape Case

The Nigerian police in Abia State said today they have arrested  two persons in connection with the Abia gang rape case.

Speaking to SaharaReporters from the police headquarters in Aba, Commissioner of Police in the state, Bala Abdullahi Hassan , stated that police detectives in the state arrested one "Zaki" and his roomate late last night.

The commissioner did not provide the full names of the arrested persons claiming that his detectives would not want to jeopardize the possibility of making more arrests.
