D'banj Is Now With Mercury Records

Nigerian musician D'banj has been signed by record label Mercury records no longer G.O.O.d music. Mercury records is s subsidiary of Island Def Jam records. The label already has artistes like Bon Jovi, Taylor Swift and Rihanna.

  But really this Mercury deal is it actually a record deal or the company only has distribution rights to his album.?

I don't know if I should say congrats or what, because another story will probably pop up again soon. Anyway Congrats. The only thing i want to hear is that a new album is on it's way.

Wiz Kid Battles D'banj At The MOBOs

The organisers of  Music Of Black Origin Awards aka MOBO  has just announced the nominees for this year's awards and flying the Nigerian flag are D'banj, Seun Kuti and Wiz Kid. Others include Spoek Mathambo, Liquid Deep (South Africa) ,Cheikh Lo, Fatoumata Diawara, Owiny Sigoma Band, Smod and Viewux Farka Toure . They above mentioned artists are  the nominees in this year's Best Africa Act Category. 


Nigerian born Tinie Tempah was equally nominated in another category.

The event which will be Co-hosted by Jason Durelo  is scheduled to  take place on Oct. 5 in Glasgow, Scotland.

Ikechukwu And D'banj Reconcile

 One of the most celebrated beefs in Nigerian entertainment industry may be over as former label mates and friends Ikechukwu and D'banj were spotted together at the Sprite tripple slam show which took place in Eko Hotel, Lagos. They were seen exchanging pleasantries and even performed together making  it is hard to believe that they ever had issues. According to a Mo'hits insider ‘they’ve been talking’; adding that yesterday’s show is not the first time they’re performing together since their ‘exaggerated altercation’.

‘They were together in Abuja recently and they hit the stage together’, he says.

Kanye West To Feature On 'Scape Goat' Remix

Rumour has it that Kanye West is going to featured on the remix of D'banj's popular single 'Scape Goat'.

Some days ago it was reported that , Don Jazzy got  music production credit on one of  Kanye and Jay Z's Singles  (the song actually has Beyonce on it) off their 'watch the throne' album.
