My Azkals Encounter!

Last week, the whole Philippines watched the Azkals vs. Singapore game.

It was not a good game for the Philippines, I know. I just had to watch it because my cousin was playing. The Philippines lost with a score of 2-0 in favor of the Singaporeans.

I don’t know what happened. I am not a real football expert so I can’t say anything on how the Azkals played.

However, I heard from the Azkals fan page that the Azkals would be playing against Nepal here in the Philippines! And the best thing about it was that Kuya would be playing!

So last Sunday, October 9, I messaged him thru Facebook that I wanted to see him play. I got a call afterwards. The connection was bad though, I wasn’t able to hear who was on the other line so I dropped the call. Afterwards, I got a text message from Kuya telling me that he’ll be giving me four tickets!

It was more than ten years since I met Kuya. I was so small back then. He was a real big football player already then.

Monday morning, he texted me saying I could get the tickets at the Sofitel hotel later that night. OMG! I just wished that there’d be a typhoon that night so I could stay with the Azkals! Hahaha!

I also learned that the Azkals would be practicing that night so I decided that I could just watch the practice then head to Sofitel. Too bad, I arrived late at the practice. They were already packing up when I arrived at the field. There were a lot of fans watching at the practice!

After the game, the fans would be asking for pics/authographs…

Anton del Rosario didn’t play because of his injury. He was wearing the same red shirt when I last saw him, though.

And here’s a blurry pic of him cuz he was rushing…

So I headed to Sofitel. I waited a bit cuz I knew that the Azkals weren’t able to shower after their practice.

A few minutes later though, Neil Etheridge came from nowhere. Fans asking for his picture.

I admit, I was not a fan of his. But I came to meet him face to face and… OMG He’s really cute! And that accent is just soo adorable!!! I was converted!

Now here is Fil-Danish Jerry Lucena…

Jerry with fellow Fil-Danish Dennis Cagara

Rob Gier and his fellow Azkal... What's his name?

I also met James Younghusband, Coach Weiss, Ian Araneta, Chieffy Caligdong and Aly Borromeo. I just forgot to take their solo pics because of the other fans.

I was wishing hard that the rain that night worsen so I’d be forced to stay at the Sofitel. Too bad, it was just drizzling. I got my tickets so I left the hotel afterwards…

I watched the Azkals vs Nepal game with my sisters and we were so happy because we got to watch Kuya and the whole Azkals win!

I was just not too satisfied with my Azkals encounter though. I hope that I could be introduced formally next time. Teehee!

Azkals for Men's Health PH

Anton del Rosario, Our Sexiest Guy this month, along with the other Azkals members have their own September Issue covers for Men's Health Philippines.

Captain Aly Borromeo flaunts his abs and amazing adonis belt! Winner!

Ian Araneta looks fierce!

This may not be Phil's hottest pic, but hey, it's Phil Younghusband!

Love Neil Etheridge's attitude!

But then again, even without taking his shirt off, Anton del Rosario ultimately rocks the MH Guy look. I should know, I'm an avid MH reader as well!

Check out the other Azkals' covers on the MH September issue!

Azkals vs Sri Lanka: Best Game Ever!!!

Yesterday's game against Sri Lanka was definitely the best game ever of the Azkals that I've watched!

Last June 29, Azkals played against them which ended up in a draw (1-1).

I was not really aware of the game but due to Facebook updates, I went ahead and changed the channel right on time for the start of the game!

Angel Locsin was there at the Rizal Stadium to show support to her rumored beau, Phil Younghusband.

The game went really quick. The Philippines scored early, thanks to Chieffy Caligdong. One score is actually enough to make the Filipinos happy, but the Azkals went on up to 4 goals!

I must say that Angel's presence must have boosted Phil's performance enormously. It's a good effect on Phil. If you're a player too, you must have experienced that kind of feeling. Hmmm... I've had that feeling when I was in High School, while my dad was watching me play.

I couldn't get enough of Anton Del Rosario! I kept looking for him in the field!

It was soo much fun watching the game that I forgot to watch Hideo's part on GMA's Game! Shuuxxx!!!

Anyway, let's just pray for the next game against Kuwait!

Azkals for Silver Swan

Ok so if the Cortal ad was too hot for you, here's another commercial of Azkals.

I like this ad because it has that masa appeal; making The Azkals more Pinoy-friendly. And Phil's British accent is just so nakakalaglag-panty!

LOLS!!!

Japan Tsunami

The world was rattled yesterday with the 8.9 magnitude and earthquake.

It was really scary.

All I could think about was...

Is the Azkals team all right?

They are currently in Japan practicing for their fight with Mongolia. They need to practice in cold weather to get used to it by the time they're in Mongolia.

Thanks to Aly's tweets, we know that they're safe.

Read more about their current condition here.

But really. That's really scary. Hope and prayers for all those victims and may the Philippines and Asia be safe in the coming days.

Azkals for Metro Society Magazine

There's no stopping the Azkals from rising!

They are on the cover of Metro Society Magazine this March.

I just knew Jason Sabio now. Never noticed him before and I kinda like him.

That's  Rob Gier, <unknown Azkal player>, and Neil Etheridge

Anton Del Rosario, Aly Borromeo, and Simon Greatwich.

Great photo of Aly. Kinda reminds me of Brock Yurich.

Simon and Rob's battle of the abs

Neil's looking like he's having fun!

Love this pic! and love Anton's abs!

More pics Behind-The-Scenes

Simon Greatwich, Anton Del Rosario, Neil Etheridge, Aly Borromeo, Jason Sabio, and Rob Gier. What a handsome group!

Simon, Rob and Anton play around during shoots

Rob Gier looks like a winner with that smile

Rob looks perfect. But the staff should have looked for a better flag.

Neil Etheridge sitting on the grass, with a bottle of water. Hmmm... What are you doing with that?

And the best part of it is here! The Azkals invite you to get a copy of the mag! Available on newsstands by March 10, 2011.
